Fear or Faith?

After Jesus was raised, some of the disciples "believed"
immediately and others as time went on. (John 21)
The other response was that of fear; fear that they had
been fooled by the Romans, or fear that the Romans
would blame them.
That tension between "fear and faith" continues to this
day. We believe God and His Word; but we fear that He
won't come through or that somehow, we'll "miss it".
In circumstances, the consequences are small; but now
and then we miss out on some of God's great work in
our lives because are "afraid".
Thirty years ago, when a handful
of couples started our Church, we had plenty to fear, but
a steady underlying conviction that it was what He wanted.
I needed to be encouraged not to give in to my fears by
other friends; and yesterday 4,000+ adults and children
worshiped the Risen Saviour in three locations around
our city.
Don't miss out on what God has for you: choose faith!

a steady confidence that it was what God had wanted.
