Peering Into Uncertainty

All of us wish for life to have much more stability and certainty. We want to know what the stock market's going to do, what our kids are going to do, what our bodies are going to do and, perhaps most of all, what God is going to do with our lives!

Recently, there's been a lot in the news about the very severe weather that's been breaking out in the midwest, doing incredible damage.

Fortunately, we've not had that here in the Western Pennsylvania area but we're looking at some uncertain weather today and tomorrow and recognizing that our much anticipated Car Cruise launch could be jeopardized by something as simple as a bad thunderstorm.

Next to life's big issues, weather is usually a small thing and most of the uncertainties that we face provide us with alternatives that we can act upon.

That's why I take great encouragement from Paul's words when he says in Philippians3:13&14 "This one thing I do" and then speaks of his resolve to move forward in his faith in Christ and to leave behind things that could be distractions or difficulties.

And so with the certainty that God is with us and the certainty that His Spirit lives in us, let's take on life's challenges and believe that the uncertainty of circumstances is just simply an opportunity to trust God to be the one sure thing in our lives!

Blessings,
Dr. Jay

  1. I enjoyed this post, particularly because it speaks to where Jay and I are right now...venturing into the unknowns and uncertainties of adoption. Thanks.
