What We Know

In several recent conversations, it’s been made clear to me that the “fear factor” about the future is quite high at the present time.

Perhaps it’s the uncertainty of the newly elected President-to-be or the mounting sense of economic uncertainty and global saber rattling, but people everywhere are quite fearful of what may happen.

It’s at this time that we have the extraordinary blessing of expressing to others, as well as to ourselves, the reality that God is sovereign and that He rules in the affairs of men! We know that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)

Because we know such things, our lives are not rocked by uncertainty and we needn’t fear circumstantial upheaval no matter how desperate it may seem.

Rather, it’s a time when we can spiritually draw near to the Lord and know that He will direct our steps and cause us to flourish even when the world around us seems to be heading in the opposite direction.

Much of this is counterintuitive. However, the degree to which you live it out will be a testimony to others and draw them to the cross, which is God’s “forever statement” about His unchanging love for us!

Blessings,

Dr. Jay
