The Gift of Family

As I mentioned in yesterday's blog we're heading out to a family wedding this weekend which is meaningful on so many levels.

One of the things that weddings do, in a very positive way, is to present an environment where family comes together to celebrate from all over the land.

When you think about it, it's usually weddings or funerals that cause us to make time to be together and only weddings provide that unreserved reason to celebrate!

It's also time for those who are married to reflect on the vows they've made and to reaffirm what God has put on their heart, perhaps years before, and to both thank Him for sustaining them and call upon Him if they need grace during this time.

I can tell you we're excited about it! I can tell you that there's going to be unexpected moments and forgotten details; but in the end we're going to laugh, we're going to learn a lot about each other and we're going to love!

In a sense, a marriage is a moment of great hopefulness because it reminds us of God's original design for the highest of relationships and there's no better time to celebrate that than at your family wedding.

Blessings,

Dr. Jay
