This weekend’s service with the heart wrenching story of Jason and Kelly Luhn (better known as Kelly Frey to most of us), was an amazing illustration of the power of one story being able to connect the hearts of thousands of people.
Even though this was about one little baby and one couples’ struggle with how to handle the desperate news that their child would most likely be still born and perhaps badly disfigured, the power of faith, the support of community and a revelation of God gave opportunities for people to connect on an incredible number of levels.
Over the past 24 hours I’ve had people from age 13 to 83 tell me that the service ‘spoke to them’ about situations they were facing. This is the goal of any communication when we gather as God’s people. We want to hear from the Lord and whether it’s directly preached from God’s Word or shared indirectly through the narrative of an individual, His truth speaks to us and sustains us when life is difficult or challenging.

The beauty of it is that every day the Lord continues His communication with our hearts and though it may not be as dramatic as what Jason and Kelly experienced, it’s every bit as important to you because it’s your story being told!
