Praying For Our Nation

It is one thing to become embroiled in “political debate” and an entirely separate thing to be concerned for the “well being” of our nation.

By any measurement, the debt-ceiling debacle which we are witnessing only weakens us in the eyes of the world and reveals a very uncertain future in terms of our nation’s leadership.

Take the politics out of it and simply look at the situation we are in.

It’s at this time that I take seriously the commandment of scripture to “pray for our nation” (2Chronicles 7:14) and to ask God to forgive us for not taking seriously His commandment to humbly seek His face.

As we have both a moral and spiritual responsibility to provide hope for the peoples of the world who are oppressed, impoverished and seeking for answers, it’s more than an unfortunate political debate when we cannot keep our own house in order.

I pray you’ll join with me and pray for our Congress and Executive Branch to come to resolution and to take even more seriously this sovereign mantle of leadership that’s been placed upon us.

Blessings,

Pastor Jay
