I think in my most honest moments, I have to admit that sometimes it’s difficult to trust Him with the things that seem out of control.
For me, it’s rarely about material things or stuff; it’s almost always about relational things and what other people are doing in response to what God has called us to.
This issue of “submission” or “embracing the covering of others” is something that seems to always come with conflict. At first, it’s a conflict in our own soul that tests whether or not we’re willing to submit to others (Eph. 5:21) and eventually it becomes about others submitting to us.
In both cases it’s difficult. However, there’s really no advancement in the Kingdom of God without embracing this fundamental principle. Submission is what God uses to test our spirit and to keep us fully dependant upon Him and not our own clever ways.
