A friend of mine recently received some difficult news from people for whom he worked.
Despite his willingness to voluntarily make reductions to accommodate these difficult economic conditions, the employer seemed to use his “goodwill gesture” to jump into an even greater reduction and loss.
What impressed me was the response of the friend who said “hard things like this only find their solution when laid at Jesus’ feet.” Though it would be a battle to let it go, he was convinced that he would be stronger for doing so.
We’re all inclined to fight for ourselves and sometimes it’s the right thing to do. Sometimes, however, “strong surrender” puts you in the place where you’ve done your best and you know that Jesus will fight for you.
Blessings,
Dr. Jay
Jay, Our family can definitely understand the need for strong surrender as we have had to surrender Jason's health and future to Him. We are blessed to say that Jesus was fighting for us all the time even when some of us were low on faith. You go through tests to have a testimony and we trust ours will be helpful to someone else who is going through what our "souldier" went through. Committed with you in the ministry.
