Looking to climb?

The paradox of “leadership growth” continues to capture my attention. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with desiring to grow in responsibility and impact as a leader but the true question that every believer must face is “how do I get there?” Jesus simplified it as clearly as possible when he said “the greatest of all shall become the servant of all.”

As in so many other Kingdom principles, this is “upside down” from the world. We are not to inflate ourselves or elevate ourselves in any way, but rather to serve those not just above us, but even those below us! In so doing, the Lord promises that he will elevate us and put us in a place of appropriate authority.

Think about that in terms of where you are serving now. Would people see the way up in your life as coming down alongside others? If so, you are modeling the “ladder of leadership” of the kingdom of God!
Blessings,

Pastor Jay
