Facing the tough ones

In several recent conversations, I’ve heard people describe their aversion to dealing with difficult issues head-on. In fact, many people are even willing to relocate away from something that they find disturbing or challenging rather than face it and try to work it out.

One thing that I find difficult, but necessary, is to face those things which seek to steal my peace and joy in the Lord. I know that my only solution comes by facing them head-on, not by running from them.

In 1Samuel 17, when David saw the Israelites running from Goliath day after day, he quickly recognized that the only solution was to face that impossible giant and not run from him. He did so not in his own strength, but rather in the strength of the Lord who had been with him in other similar circumstances.

As a result, he became the new spiritual champion for the people of God and has stood for three centuries as a model of the fact that “with God all things are possible”.

So just think about what it is you need to face and do so in the power of the Lord, knowing that in Him and with Him, all things are possible!

Blessings,

Pastor Jay
