When the News Isn't Good

Today my wife, Carol, heard that her mom's health has been deteriorating and that she may need some "skilled care" for the foreseeable future.

We've been praying for a long time that she would continue in relatively good health and enjoy these very long years with which God has blessed her!

However when the news isn't good, it's not an invitation to fall apart and begin to wonder "Where is God?". Rather, it's a time to say "Lord, You are bigger than we are and You see things that we don't see and so therefore we trust You with whatever this prognosis might be." Of course you pray for healing and of course you pray for God to come along and do His miraculous work, but in the end it's all about trusting Him whether the news is good or bad.

Blessings,

Dr. Jay
