There’s an old, old chorus that we used to sing that went “It only takes a spark to set a fire going….”
In just the last 24 hours I’ve had 4 different conversations with people where twice intentionally and twice unintentionally I “sparked” some really positive ideas in the minds and hearts of 4 different men.
It seems to me that we’re so often afraid that our ideas may be rejected or perhaps perceived as an additional burden to someone’s life that we withhold the spark that we may see in them. I want to encourage you to do the unconventional and to make the suggestion, open the conversation, or even offer to investigate a possibility with them. So few people in my world are “initiators”… people who can spark someone into action, and yet so many people are waiting for that spark to be lit so that they can have permission to pursue their dream.
It’s just something that’s been made alive to me today on four different occasions. Think of the potential of that if multiplied a few hundred times, even throughout our church family in the next week. That’s how amazing things take place!
Blessings,
Dr. Jay
