I shared with our wonderful ministry staff here at North Way this morning about the need to seek wise counsel, whatever your age or position in life.
Using the story of Rehoboam, son of Solomon, we learned together that he rejected the wise counsel of those who had served alongside of his father and thus brought down his very own kingdom.
We as a nation are facing numerous crises right now both economic and geopolitical. It is certainly a time for “wise counsel” and a time when we pray that our leaders will have the good sense to “listen well” before they act rashly about anything that seems to have threatened our way of life.
We all believe in our nation, but we also must acknowledge that our nation is made up of regular people who are not always motivated by godliness.
I’m not sure how you see all this but I know that I’m very much in prayer these days for our leaders, for those in authority and for those who must wrestle with the enormous challenges that we face.
It’s a great time to know that the Lord is in control, but we also have a responsibility to take a stand in prayer for our nation (II Chronicles 7:14).
Blessings,
Dr. Jay

ReplyDeleteProverbs always gives good advise. Let us pray that our leaders turn to God for wisdom.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. (Proverbs 15:22)
This is a wonderful time for The Church to remind us that when we follow Biblical principles with our finances, God promises to supply ALL of our needs.
Let us change our nation's motto from "In Debt We Trust" back to to "In God We Trust."
