As I write to you today, Cairo, Egypt is in upheaval. There are many speculations about the potential outcome of a "revolution" in that nation and it's impact on the Middle East.
For nearly four decades now I've watched as power has shifted in that part of the world. There is undoubtedly a direct biblical link between what happens in the nation of Israel and the closing of this age in which we live and the return of Christ Jesus to the earth.
I've also learned that it's very foolish to jump to conclusions in these matters. Many highly respected leaders have done so over the years and have caused considerable confusion in the body of Christ. My sense is that we will all clearly know when God is aligning things to bring about the close of the age and there won't be just one or two people who will have an inside track on this amazing and cataclysmic event.
We should pray for stability and the peace of Israel as is commanded in Scripture. We should also pray for the Christians who are being persecuted throughout the Middle East just for knowing Jesus.
In the meantime, there will be "wars and rumors of wars", but the end is not yet.
