Reaching the City

This morning I was privileged to attend the Greater Pittsburgh Community Leaders Prayer Breakfast which has been an interfaith gathering held at Station Square for the past 15+ years.

This is one of the most positive "city-wide" events that I am privileged to attend throughout the year. People from all Christian faiths are represented and the message is almost always biblical and inspirational, as it was today.

Perhaps the most important thing for me is the sense that we are not alone in our desire to be part of the greater community of believers throughout the city. There are people from every denomination and background, age, ethnicity and race.

None-the-less there was a very clear sense of unity and a common celebration that though we have much ground to continue to win for Christ, we are much more likely to do so together than on our own.

My only wish is that things like this could be more frequent and more strategic.

The prayer breakfast was a great way to start my day and be part of a team from our church that represents our passion to help reach our city for Christ!

Blessings,
Pastor Jay
