It was my privilege today to host a gathering with three of the senior leaders of Trinity Seminary out of Deerfield, Illinois, who came to affirm their commitment to the establishing of an extension campus that will serve the city of Pittsburgh from our North Way location.
What struck me during the time together was how difficult it has been for them to find churches that have a citywide vision and not just a passion for their own campus.
It was a blessing for me to introduce the pastors from churches in all four quadrants of the city and to pursue with these folks the possibilities of reaching prospective students in our many colleges, universities as well as scores of other churches, throughout the city because we are represented in every part of the region.
This may not sound like a lot to anyone who has a big sales territory or has a company that covers a region, but when it comes to churches working together, it's a very rare thing!
It's time that we start "thinking Kingdom" and not just what's best for ourselves.
Today was a very important day in the development of that thinking for me!
